I cannot believe I made it to Design Challenge 5 without skipping a week. If you would like to join it is not too late. Head over to my design challenge page to see a full list of all of the challenges and post your finished patterns to Instagram using the hashtag #kmpdesignchallenge.

This is probably one of my favorite patterns I have created. The challenge was to base this pattern on a hobby of mine so I decided to illustrate my love of vegetable gardening, insert pictures here:

When I was making this pattern I wanted the pattern block to have no repeating elements in it so each fruit is only featured once in the block. Eventually, when I edit this pattern I want to make the pattern block bigger. The eggplant really stands out and since I started with a 1000 x 1000 surface the eggplant, pumpkins, strawberries, etc are perfectly aligned in a square. There is nothing wrong with that but for some reason, it really bugs me.

The color needs some tweaking but I like what it is becoming and settled on this for now. Despite the little details I would like to change, I am really pleased with this especially since I did not stick to my typical white background on this one. I hope you like it.

Do you like vegetable gardening? What is your favorite thing to grow in your garden?
