A few weeks ago I shared the exciting news that I am working on a shop and, while it has been rather slow moving, I said I would give you updates on the progress of the shop. Although I haven’t gotten too far on my shop, I have started creating the individual pattern titles for each of the 8 original patterns I will be selling in my shop so I thought I would share those with you now.

I couldn’t just leave it at showing you the pattern title pages on my shop so I thought I would leave you with a few things to think about when creating title slides for your shop. These shop titles are really simple which I like because you don’t want your shop titles to detract from your pattern. The main focus should be on the patterns and too many details will take the focus away from your patterns. It also is a good idea to be consistent with your pattern titles. You want people to be able to recognize that a pattern is yours. Some people are really good at achieving that similar style in their patterns, but for the rest of us, having distinguishable, consistent title pages for all of the items in your shop is a good way to be recognized and to streamline the shop upkeep process so you can spend more time designing.

The last thing you should consider is picture size. I plan on selling my patterns on creative market and they recommend specific dimetions for your images. For you reference, here are recommended dimentions for 3 of the top websites that you might sell your patterns on:

If I think of anything else that went into making pattern title pages I will update this post. In the meantime, what are some things you want to know about opening a shop?

P.S. For those wondering, the font I used for the pattern title pages is Selima. You can find it free on Graphic Burger

If you liked this post, why not share it! It lets me know what posts you like so I can make more posts like this.
